some link love

I've had some really nice link love recently. Thank you to Little Willow, a bookseller and writer, who listed I So Don't Do Mysteries as a book to read in her Forthcoming Coming Releases post yesterday. Little Willow does all kinds of great book reviews and author interviews and not-to-be-missed (Obviously! Ha!) book lists. An informative blog to visit.

And thank you to brian-ohio who is my agent-brother. (We both have the same agent.) When he read of my galleys worries, he commented: "I can't wait to read Sherry's story. And share it with my daughters. We'll also have fun counting all the missing commas." Brian, you are too, too kind. He went on, in his empathetic way: "That kind of topic is perfect for my Blog!! A very public posting! ;-)" Seriously, this guy could do stand-up comedy. So, if you ever need a laugh, hop on over to his blog. (Hey, Brian, I'll add you to my blog roll, if you add me to yours!)

And, now, a shout-out for a brand-new blog. It's The Adventures of Lane-Living with Autism. Theses posts are so poignant; you could laugh and cry, all at the same time. This dad blogs with honesty and heart about life with his third son who is autistic. I have the privilege of knowing this delightful family. For a peek at their wild and crazy and wonderful world, read this blog.

The last word on the galleys: I did get choked up when sending them off. I didn't notice until I got home that Mr. Postal Annex didn't charge me for my photocopying. He probably thought my mailer was stuffed with divorce papers!

And, by my next post, I will be phenomenally beautified with new highlights and a trim!

  2. It must be a little like sending off your own child... all that time, effort, love, hopes, and dreams rolled up into one Fed-ex package. Congratulations.

  6. Mary Alice, I think you're right. It is a little like sending your child off. A very young child that you're totally invested in and have lost a lot of sleep over and who took tons of extra attention... Ha!

  9. Thanks for saying such nice things about me. And for setting the bar so stinkin' high. I'll never be able to reach it now. Sheez!

I'm glad to see your book's already getting mentioned. I'll do whatever I can, within the state laws of Ohio, to get the word out.

I'll add you to my blog roll, I just need to figure out how to get a blog roll. Does it come with butter?

Oh... and that's a touching blog about Lane. I've added it to my favorites.

  13. Hey Barrie,
I checked out the Lane link and it definitely made me smile! Finally, a family that might be as wacky as mine. (Ok, maybe not).
I am trying to find something funny, witty, or outrageous to write this morning and I am completely blank. So unlike me. Here is a story for you:
Call from 18 year old traveling by car back to college. "Mom, I'm in a carpool lane and it says 3 people minimum in Auto. Does that mean a car?"
No darling. You are in a Bat Plane.Just turn on your propellors and fly above the traffic. I love being a mom. Santee Babe

  14. Yay! Good work getting those galleys sent off. And so nice of you to pimp other people's blogs for them. I'll check them out. I loved the term agent-brother, too. Sounds very appropriate.
