You know you're in Canada when...

The packaging is bilingual.

You get to shop along the Danforth with a sis.

You have to sort your garbage (refuse, recycling, organic).

Milk comes in bags.

McDonald's has a maple leaf on its sign.

It's beautiful...

(And, just so you guys know, I'm typing from a little government building on the side of the highway near Sharbot Lake Provincial Park. The bathroom smells like sulfur because of the water around here. So, you "wash" your hands with hand sanitizer. They're letting me use the internet for free with the understanding that I'm to hop off if someone comes in to do a job search. After I post this, my sisters and I are headed to a tea shop for a coffee and a butter tart.)

  12. Do you find Canada more beautiful than California?

Please describe the butter tart as I have an intense interest in baked goods.

  15. Wow, it all sounds like NY! That is, except for the McDonalds maple leaf and the sulfur water situation (NY water is the best, IMO).

I have to say, you seem to be feeling at home there and it's making me want to visit as well. A butter tart, huh? Never heard of it before but it sounds rich and wonderful. Enjoy!

  20. So, Gabe, is milk not available in bags in Manitoba? I love the bag option. Those bags are great for freezer storage.
