Missing in Action

This is sorta kinda me! I am SERIOUSLY over-extended. With writing and kids and school visits/other book events and home improvements. Yikes!

But I did want to let you know how much I've missed you all. It's lonely being this busy. I miss visiting all your blogs. I miss blogging.

Yes, we will have The Book Review Club next Wed., May 6. Reviewers can expect an email from me on Thursday (the day after tomorrow).

A quick update:

The book (I So Don't Do Makeup) is shaping up nicely. No word on the cover yet.

The home improvements are going well. I'll have some before and after shots to post soon.

The kids are doing fine. Child #3 has SEVEN water polo games this weekend! Child #2 has a swim meet. Child #1 is saving up for new music equipment. Child #4 scratched a message into our BRAND NEW cement. This is it (spelling uncorrected):
Child #4 is way cutter than Child #3!

And here's something I learned today about teens. How do your get a 15 year old son to say "I love you?"

Text him at lunch from his high school parking lot saying you have a surprise. It's a roast beef + lettuce + tomatoes + chipotle sauce Subway, Doritos and a medium coke! (I love you back, Child #2!)

I probably won't blog again until The Book Review Club next Wed. Be good. Be well. See you then!

xo

p.s. If I get any free time, I'll spend it visiting blogs, not blogging myself. That's how much I miss you!

I'm glad you're still blogging. I've had to back off, as well, due to time committments.

I'll be here when you return!

A) your book is on my list of must reads this summer.
B) Let's talk if you ever come to the DC area.
I would love to book an appearance at my school
Is that so presumptuous?

When “real” life gets so frantic and busy, that’s when you realize what a luxury blogging is.
Stay sane!

Barrie, my head is spinning just reading this post. I’m busy trying to finish my MS draft too so my posts will be shorter in May. Good luck getting everything finished, and thanks for hosting our book review club in the midst of all this. You are missed!

I must have missed it. Why aren't you visiting my blog?

Wow! Sounds hurried. That comes across really well in this blog post. Love your writing.

I think I need at least another 10 hours in every day.

It's not easy being popular is it??? LOL

Actually, I know you are busy and hectic right now, and are probably thinking you need a break, but really, isn't it great? I mean, I read a lot of writer's blogs' and you are in place where most wish they could be. Very exciting to know someone who has "made it" and will continue to make it.

And yes, can't wait to see before and after pictures!!!!!! Now, take a break and get a manicure or something!

Okay, this is the third time today I have posted on someone's blog and it didn't show up.

I know you are busy and everything is hectic, but don't you just love it? YOU MADE IT! You are a published book writer and now you are busy (although that many games on one day? Are they crazy?).

But you have to take a break once in a while. Get a manicure or something!

And I can't wait to see before and after pictures of your house. I just love that kind of stuff.

Oh, crazy-busy...we've all been there. Heck, I'm still there (I feel like I'll NEVER finish drafting this new book :). But I just wanted to pop in to say "Hi." LOVE the sub sandwich idea! I think my son would love that, too...
Good luck with everything!!

I'll have to remember the way to get an 'I love you'...You might have gotten one from me if you'd showed up for lunch at my house with that combo. :)

See you next Wednesday!

Keep writing, Barrie. We miss you, but the book is so much more important. I'll try not to miss book club this month.

I can't imagine how you get anything done . . . much less blogging! (SEVEN water polo matches?)

Best of luck with that schedule, Barrie!

I love what Child #3 carved into your new cement, how precious! :) Kids say (write) the cuttest things! ;)

Barrie, I understand fully the problems with managing time of job, home and blogging, plus the most important part of finding time to write the manuscripts.

Summer wanted me to tell you that she is very happy to hear you are very busy because that means she is getting closer to reading the next book which she wants to remind you that she is very anxiously waiting for. Oh wait - I need to edit. She said she is very VERY anxiously waiting for.
