Gray Hair AND A BOOK SIGNING!

Read an interesting article the other day on why hair goes gray.

Apparently, a shortage of the enzyme catalase and some of its friends allows a build-up of hydrogen peroxide in the hair. Which causes hair to bleach itself. There was a bunch more scientific gobbledygook from people who obviously...

do NOT live with teens.

Here's the article.

ALSO! ALSO! ALSO!  I'll BE AT A SIGNING....

                             Tonight. Friday, March 13
                                      6:00 to 8:00 PM
Barnes & Noble at Hazard Center
(7610 Hazard Center Dr., San Diego, CA 92108)

Here's the phone number (619-220-0175) in case you just want to call and chat. KIDDING!

Come and hang out with me. Unless you live in Florida or Canada or somewhere far away like that.

Then again, maybe you have a bunch of frequent flyer miles and you're intrigued by all the My Town Monday posts about San Diego. So, come visit San Diego AND hang out with me this evening at B&N (Hazard Center).

Anyway, now you know where I'll be spending my Friday evening.

And I'll be wearing THE jeans.

Have a grand time, Barrie. I am having a radio interview for my book on Monday morning - for Talk Radio in Ottawa.
No one will be able to see my gray hair! :-)

Heh, I WISH I had FFM to fly down there and see you! Can you come over to the Rockies sometime soon? Have a great time!

Some of the most fabulous women I know have greay hair, it makes them all the more fabulous. Sounds like you are going to have to come back up north for a book signing soon.

It would be a miracle for me to be in San Diego today...but I'm sure you'll have fun at your book signing without me. I wish you continued success with your book.

I'd like to be in San Diego. Oh well. Keep it fun. It's cold in Dallas at the moment (for a Texan, anyway).

You'll be wearing THE jeans and not the gray hair, right? ;)

Larramie: I haven't made up my mind yet!

Barrie, gray hair comes with wisdom, and don't ever forget that.

I have an award on my blog for you.

I wish I could come -- it's been more than a year since we were in San Diego. Hope it's great!

I have no excuse since I love San Diego and live only 4 hours away. If only I had known sooner and didn't already have plans!

Hope your signing went well, Barrie, I had a major allergy attack today, so I won't be able to make it. I agree with you that teenagers are the biggest cause of gray hair. Twins at any age contribute a lot of them, too.

Have fun at your signing, I would love to be there, but don't have any FFM:(

Good luck with the signing!

I'm pretty sure gray hair is caused by children. It's a genetic ability they inherit from their parents.

Since I've just read this, and it is 11:28 pm in NE OH, I guess I'm too late to come. I hope you had a wonderful time, Barrie.

Have fun at the book signing! You can also go grey if you live with toddlers!

You are so funny, Barrie. So how did the book signing go? Sorry I couldn't make it - I think I need a trip to San Diego for book signings and beach sightings. :)

I like gray hair except in my goatee. I started pulling them out but unfortunately I looked like a mangy dog.

Can't you come and do a signing in State College Pennsylvania?

please???????

How interesting about the gray hair. I wonder if some people are genetically disposed to not produce sufficient amounts of catalase. Premature gray hair runs in my family, darn it. (You can't tell because I color it now.) Hope your signing went well.

I loved Going Gray. My husband kept trying to hide the book on me because he wants me to stay brunette.
