And the winner is...

First, you take the Official Blog Bowl.

Then you slip on the four-sizes-too-big heels.

And, voila, you choose the winner! (Please note the photochromatic nail polish. It changes from pink to purple in the sun. A must for little Name Pullers. And their mothers.)

Congratulations, Patti of Welcome to the Patti-O! Email me at barrieDOTsummy AT yahooDOTcom with your address and I'll send you Al Capone Does My Shirts. Plus, I'll stick in some nice chocolate I have here. Thank you to Child #4 who really got into the blogosphere spirit of it all.

A couple of random items:

A Brownie troop in my little neck of Southern California jumped the gun and began selling Girl Scout cookies EARLY! Even more interesting--they were ratted out! Hello, people. Life is waaaaaay too short for this. Go chill with a coffee....and a thin mint.

Child #4 with a wand in her hand: "I'm your Fairy Godmother and I can give you anything you want. Even a hairy back."

I will update Ms. Potato (the progress meter on the side bar) tomorrow.

Cyber love to all!

  2. Congrats, Patti!

I don't get the Girl Scout cookie selling date rule. For years that has baffled me.

  3. Heidi: Ahhh....how we love those $4.00 high heels from Walmart!

Monnik: I don't get it either. It's Girl Scout cookies. It's not like we're talking insider tips or something. :)

  6. I can't believe I didn't know about color changing nail polish, or blog bowls! I must have both.

  7. Where on earth did the Fairy Godmother get the idea of granting a wish for a hairy back?!

  8. Barrie,
If your book is anything like your blog - it's going to be a great read - I love the spirit.

And thanks, for asking. You are so nice. I must admit, I'm bummed out - but what can I do?

Watching the 2k8 class members' success is exciting! And the cookie thing is nuts!

  10. Nothing like "Cat Fights" in the Girl Scouts as they try to raise money for a worthy cause. Too bad they make it a competition and "I'll bet you dollars to donuts" (as Tracey says...what it means I have NOOOOOO idea...) that parents got involved and messed the hole thing up.

They're cookies folks!!!! and little girls!!!! Let them grow up without the conflict - they'll get plenty of that when they get older.

  11. Hi Spyscribbler: I suspect we'll end up with boxes upon boxes of cookies. As will our friends... :)

Sarakastic: The color-changing nail polish is hard to find (down here anyway). The blog bowl? You can make with a marker, some paper and a tortilla warmer. :)

Beth: I honestly have no idea where the hairy back came from!!

Gabe: Thank you. :) And you know we'll be cheering you on in 2009! Also, I think there's be lots of overlap. So, who knows, we may end on a panel together yet!

Alyssa: I have to admit that every time I think of the hairy-back comment, I giggle. Thin Mints? You just can't ever argue with those!

    Johnnie: Thanks for visiting!

  13. Even though I didn't win the book, I did win when you picked up my son from school for me. Merci. Love the shoes and the polish -that child has a future in fashion, just like her mother! As for the Scouts, I personally think the whole troop should be brought up on charges. Because if they're not, then the next thing you know they will grow up to be the president and then lie to their countries about war and cookies. We just can't have that.

  16. As a former GS, I understand the sell date rule! I guess it's true...they shouldn't make it a competition. ::sigh::

    Those heels crack me up!

Okay -- why would child #4 want to grant you a hairy back?!?! My momma told me to eat my veggies because it would put hair on my chest which I could never figure out...like hello? I'm a girllll...

    Love those shoes!!!
