I Am Sick

Yes, it's true. I am sick. This is not good for a mother of four who still has shopping and baking to do.

On the upside, I have stopped throwing up. (Don't worry. As this is not a medical blog, I won't be offering further details!)

On another upside, my stomach is exceedingly flat.

On yet another upside, I can now keep down tylenol which helps keep the aches and shivers at bay.

This Christmas will be known in our family as The Christmas Mom Learned To Delegate.

I'm off for a cup of tea and some dry toast. I'm making detailed lists for various family members to pick up my slack. And then I'm crawling back into bed.

Seasons Greetings to you and yours!!

(And if I do manage to drag myself out and you see me in the stores, don't hug me. )

  5. Barrie, a nice batch of mulled wine with lemon, oranges, cloves, cinnamon stick all warmed up would make you feel a whole lot better and then you'd be able to sleep, which is a necessity when anyone has a nasty bug. The symptoms sound like the flu bug that went around Toronto in early November.

Hope you feel better soon, and do have a Merry Christmas...make certain you try eat something to keep up your strength to combat this bug.

If you happen to be in bed with your laptop, go to my blog for a moment of cheers.

  16. I have to admit that I was a little jealous of your stomach flu. My usually flat stomach has 2 new rolls.

    Feel better!

  17. Trust Santa - (and delegate)

You know that Leonard Cohen line - there's a crack in everything ... that's how the light gets in ? Well think of your illness as a crack in your mom management system.

Your kids will shine. (But get well soon!)
    All the best

I am suffering from excess of everything and I would love a flat tummy. There's an upside to everything!
