On my nightstand....

When I woke up this morning, there was a note waiting on my nightstand.

It's from Child #4 who knows and shares my love of candy and jewelry.

Happy Halloween back at you Child #4! We are going to have buckets of fun today. You will be a beautiful Cleopatra this evening. And I will be a scary pirate.

Happy Halloween to all of you!

  13. What a fabulous gift to wake up to!

My costume was a sort of private writer's joke. Just for me, really. I wore a black shirt that said "Mummy."

It's cute because I'm the Mommy (Paul's shirt says Deady and the girls are Little Ghouls.)

But it's a writer's joke because I wasn't a mummy. I didn't even try to look like a mummy. I just told you that I was a mummy. I broke the cardinal rule of show-don't-tell!

Perhaps that's only amusing to me, an extremely sleep-deprived writer with the flu.

  14. Sarahlynn--Are you up late writing your book review?!
I should've known you'd come up with an extremely creative costume! Hope you're feeling better and getting some sleep.
